Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-03-22
1. Introduction
Howdeedo ("we", "us") operates howdeedo.com, a calculator website and deterministic computation platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the site, you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Website visitors (calculators in the browser): For typical use of our calculators in the web app, your inputs are processed in your browser. We do not require an account, and we do not store your calculator inputs on our servers for that default experience.
Shareable URLs: When you use "copy link" or share a result, the URL may include query parameters that encode your inputs. Anyone with the link can see those values. We do not treat that as a user profile.
Page requests and hosting: When you load any page (including calculator pages with query parameters in the address bar, or a citation record URL such as /r/…), your browser sends a normal request to our hosting provider. Like most websites, server access logs may include the requested URL (path and query string), IP address, browser type, and timestamp for security and operations. We do not use that data to build advertising profiles from your calculator inputs.
API requests: If you call our public API, we may process technical data such as your IP address, timestamps, and requested endpoints for rate limiting, abuse prevention, security, and operations. We do not use API traffic to build advertising profiles. If you use an API key, we process account and key metadata as described in our Terms and product documentation.
Contact form: If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the information you provide (e.g. email address, message). The web form is delivered through Web3Forms, which processes your submission on our behalf; see their terms for how they handle form data.
3. How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the site and APIs
- To respond to support and legal requests
- To measure aggregate traffic and performance (when you consent)
- To show ads through Google AdSense (only when you consent)
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies and local storage for essential site function, your cookie choice, and—if you accept—analytics and advertising. You can change your mind anytime by clearing site data or using the cookie banner when we show it.
Google AdSense: If you accept non-essential cookies, Google may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads. See Google's policies for how they process data.
5. Third-party services
We use infrastructure and tools that may process limited technical data (for example, hosting on Vercel). We may use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights only when you accept non-essential cookies in our cookie banner. If we enable error monitoring (e.g. Sentry), it may receive technical diagnostics; we configure it to minimize personal data.
Contact delivery: Web3Forms processes contact form submissions so we can receive your message.
6. Deterministic computation
Our calculators are designed so that the same inputs and version produce the same outputs. That does not mean we retain your inputs on our servers for the default browser experience described above.
7. Your rights (EEA/UK and California)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (including opt-out of sale/sharing, where applicable). We do not sell personal information for money. Contact us at contact@howdeedo.com to exercise rights. You may also use industry opt-out tools for interest-based ads where available.
8. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. International transfers
If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes may be highlighted on the site.
